EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus pros

  • Expands up to 5 kWh with a compatible extra battery
  • 1,800W continuous from six AC outlets, 3,600W surge

EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus cons

  • $719 is about $220 more than the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2
  • Heavier than other 1 kWh units at 27.6 lb
  • Every option was sold out or shipping mid-November on 17 October 2026

  • EcoFlow's pages give two different X-Boost figures

The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus is a 1 kWh portable power station built to grow: add an extra battery and it reaches up to 5 kWh. This EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus review covers what it costs today, what it can run during an outage, how fast it recharges and where it falls short. In short: it is the most flexible 1 kWh unit we have covered, but it costs more than the budget picks and was on back-order when we checked.

We built this review from EcoFlow’s US product page and its DELTA 3 series page, both read on 17 October 2026. We have not used the unit ourselves, so the page is labeled as researched. See how we research and rate products.

What the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus is and who it’s for

The DELTA 3 Plus is a portable power station: a 1,024Wh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a built-in inverter, six household outlets, four USB ports and a car socket. You charge it from the wall, a car, solar panels or an EcoFlow generator.

It suits homeowners and renters who want to keep a fridge, router, lights and phones going through an outage, and who may want more battery later without buying a second station. It is not a whole-home system and has no 240V output.

EcoFlow’s pages are not fully consistent on X-Boost: the spec table says devices up to 2,200W, while the series page says X-Boost can run appliances “over 2,600W”. X-Boost works by lowering the voltage, so it suits heaters and kettles, not electronics. We used the spec-table figure.

EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus features for home backup

Expansion up to 5 kWh. This is the main reason to pick the DELTA 3 Plus over cheaper 1 kWh units. EcoFlow lists four compatible extra batteries: the DELTA 3 Extra Battery, DELTA 2 Extra Battery, DELTA 2 Max Extra Battery and DELTA Pro 3 Extra Battery. The bundle with a DELTA 3 Series Extra Battery gives 2,048Wh for $1,119.

Fast recharging. A full wall charge takes 56 minutes, and EcoFlow says 30 minutes on the wall gives hours of emergency backup. That helps when storms cause short, repeated outages.

More solar input than most 1 kWh units. Two solar ports take up to 500W each. Jackery’s 1 kWh and 2 kWh units are limited to 400W combined.

UPS mode and app. The switchover is under 10 ms. The EcoFlow app shows usage and adds time-of-use settings and storm warning alerts. There is no subscription.

EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus pricing (2026)

On 17 October 2026 EcoFlow’s US store listed:

Option Price Regular price
DELTA 3 Plus (1,024Wh) $719 $799
+ DELTA 3 Series Extra Battery (2,048Wh total) $1,119 $1,299
+ 220W portable solar panel $919 $1,099
+ 800W Alternator Charger $919 $949
+ 160W portable solar panel $819 none shown
+ Smart Generator 3000 (Dual Fuel) $1,219 none shown

Every option carried a “Sold out” badge, and several said “Ships mid-November” or “coming soon”. If you need power for a storm this week, check delivery dates before ordering.

At $719 you pay about $0.70 per watt-hour. The extra-battery bundle brings that down to about $0.55, while the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 is about $0.47 at its $499 price.

What can the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus run during an outage?

It runs anything that draws up to 1,800W at once, for as long as the battery lasts. We plan with a 15% margin for inverter losses, so about 870Wh of the 1,024Wh is usable:

  • Wi-Fi router and modem at 20W: about 43 hours
  • A 60W TV: about 14 hours
  • A fridge averaging 70W (an example, measure yours): about 12 hours
  • The same fridge with the extra battery (2,048Wh): about 25 hours
  • A 1,500W space heater: about 35 minutes, which is a poor use of a battery

Who should skip the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus

Skip it if price matters most and you will never add a battery: the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 stores slightly more for $499. Skip it if you need 240V for a well pump or several home circuits; that takes a bigger system like the Anker SOLIX F3800 Plus. And skip it if you need a unit in days, since EcoFlow showed every option as sold out or shipping mid-November when we checked.

For a side-by-side look at the closest rival, see our Jackery 1000 v2 vs EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus comparison. It is also our top pick on the list of the best portable power stations for home backup.

Is the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus worth it?

For most homes that want one unit they can grow over time, yes. It has more outlets, more output, more solar input and faster switchover than the cheaper 1 kWh units, plus a 5-year warranty. If you are sure 1 kWh is all you will ever need, the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 saves you about $220. Otherwise, check the current price and delivery date of the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus on EcoFlow’s site.

EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus: frequently asked questions

Is the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus worth it?

Yes, if you value expansion and output over the lowest price. At $719 it costs more than the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2, but it has twice the AC outlets, 300W more output, faster switchover and a path to 5 kWh. If you will never add a battery, the Jackery is the better value.

How long will the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus run a refrigerator?

Roughly 9 to 12 hours for a typical fridge, depending on its real average draw. A fridge averaging 70W would run about 12 hours on the 1,024Wh battery after a 15% loss margin, and one averaging 100W about 9 hours. With the extra battery (2,048Wh) those figures roughly double.

How long does the DELTA 3 Plus take to charge?

EcoFlow lists 56 minutes from 0 to 100% on wall power at 1,500W. It lists 70 minutes on 1,000W of solar and 1.3 hours with its 800W alternator charger in a car.

What extra batteries work with the DELTA 3 Plus?

EcoFlow lists the DELTA 3 Extra Battery, DELTA 2 Extra Battery, DELTA 2 Max Extra Battery and DELTA Pro 3 Extra Battery, up to 5 kWh in total. On 17 October 2026 the bundle with a DELTA 3 Series Extra Battery (2,048Wh total) was $1,119.

Can the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus be used as a UPS?

Yes. EcoFlow lists a switchover time under 10 ms, so a router, modem or desktop computer plugged into it keeps running when the grid drops. Leave it plugged into the wall with your devices plugged into it.

Can the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus power a house?

Not a whole house. It runs a few essentials such as a fridge, router, lights and phones from its six 120V outlets, up to 1,800W at once. To back up home circuits or a 240V well pump you need a larger system with a transfer switch, such as the Anker SOLIX F3800 Plus.
