How we research and rate products
This page explains the standard every page on Outage Ready HQ is held to, including the limits of what we have done.
Two labels you will see
- Researched from vendor documentation and public sources. We read the seller’s product pages, specifications and terms, recorded what they say, and compared. We have not necessarily used the product ourselves, and we say so.
- Tested hands-on. Someone used the product for the job it is built for. We only use this label when it is true.
What we do for every page
- We check prices on the seller’s own site and show the date they were checked.
- We say what we could not confirm instead of guessing.
- We name who a product is for and who should skip it.
- We list real drawbacks.
Affiliate relationships
We may earn a commission if you buy through a link marked as an affiliate link. Commissions do not decide what we cover or how we describe it. See our affiliate disclosure.
Keeping pages current
We re-check prices and specifications on a regular schedule and update the date shown on each page.
